TL;DR
Director - Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) (Biogas): Leading the delivery of large biogas-to-pipeline capital projects totaling $100–200MM while managing EPC standards and a team of 5–7 Project Managers with an accent on engineering oversight, strategic sourcing, contracting, and field execution. Focus on governing complex project portfolios, controlling cost and schedule, resolving claims and disputes, and ensuring safe delivery across engineering, procurement, and construction.

Location: Initially home based anywhere in the US, with 50% overnight travel and access to a major airport within one hour of residence. Future plans include relocation to Charlotte, North Carolina for a hybrid office schedule.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 annual salary, plus bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

  • Lead EPC delivery for 1–2 concurrent biogas-to-pipeline capital projects valued at approximately $100–200MM.
  • Establish project governance, stage-gate standards, and integrated cost, schedule, risk, and change controls.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor 5–7 Project Managers while developing a standardized, high-performance EPC organization.
  • Provide executive oversight of engineering deliverables, constructability, operability, procurement, and construction execution.
  • Lead strategic sourcing, RFPs, bid evaluations, negotiations, EPC/EPCM contracting, and value engineering.
  • Communicate project status, capital forecasts, risks, claims, and disputes to executives, investors, and lenders.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in chemical, oil and gas, or energy industries in an EPC or owner role.
  • Experience delivering large capital projects and managing project portfolios.
  • Strong expertise in cost, schedule, and project controls.
  • Ability to perform office-based and field/site work, including walkdowns at active construction, industrial, or operational sites.
  • Ability to work from the US initially, travel overnight approximately 50% of the time, and remain open to relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina for a future hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

  • MS or MBA.
  • Experience with landfill gas, RNG, or pipeline infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with lender and investor oversight.
