Director, Major Projects (New Generation)

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana, United States; on-site presence is required at the project location for the duration of project execution.

Salary: $188,524–$245,080 per year, plus eligible incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of major generation construction projects with capital budgets of $1B–$10B.
• Direct project safety, schedule, cost, budget, commercial performance, change management, and delivery.
• Establish contracting strategies and oversee EPC, engineering, contractor, consultant, and vendor agreements.
• Manage project teams, staffing, integrated schedules, executive risk registers, and performance reporting.
• Coordinate with utilities, RTOs, regulators, landowners, contractors, suppliers, and executive stakeholders.
• Secure regulatory approvals and ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, RTO, utility commission, environmental, and permitting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of qualified experience with major construction, project management, commissioning, project controls, generation, or contract negotiation responsibilities.
• PMP certification and a valid state driver’s license.
• Progressive leadership experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to manage complex project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work at offices, power plants, and construction sites, perform site walkdowns, climb ladders, and work in varying and potentially hazardous conditions.
• Must be on location at the project site during project execution; work hours and travel may vary based on assignment needs.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, engineering, project management, finance, accounting, or construction management.
• Experience with utility generation, heavy industrial construction, new-generation EPC models, and generation interconnection agreements.
• Experience with air permits, environmental approvals, federal, state, and local agencies, and state utility commissions.
• Experience with PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, USACE, USFWS, or NEPA processes.
