Maintenance Shop Technician B

Location: Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA; onsite

Salary: $25.90–$35.65 per hour, depending on hiring locality.

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel refuse trucks, equipment, chassis, bodies, and control systems.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air-brake, suspension, drivetrain, steering, engine, heating, and air-conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, basic tire work, line-maintenance welding, and fabrication.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and provide road service when required.
• Complete company training and support the safe, efficient return of equipment to operation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with or knowledge of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, including Class 1–5 and Class 7–8 vehicles, or equivalent aircraft or ship maintenance experience.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver’s license required. ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver’s license are beneficial but not required.
