Automotive Technician B Tech (Automotive)

Location: Eden Prairie, United States; onsite retail automotive service role.

Pay range: $22.66–$33.47 per hour under a performance-based flat-rate compensation model. First-time hires may receive a $1,750 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to specification.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Assist with and train other technicians and mechanics.
• Complete paid formal training to stay current with changing automotive technology.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certification in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid automobile driver's license and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Preferred: three years of automotive repair experience, a vocational-technical program, or demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications.

Nice to have

• ASE certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
