Medical Assistant Instructor (Healthcare Education)

Location: Bakersfield, CA, USA; on-campus position

Salary: USD 27–30 per hour, based on prior teaching experience.

What you will do

• Deliver prepared medical assisting instruction and technological and academic training.
• Design lesson plans that address learning objectives, student abilities, learning styles, and individual accommodations.
• Provide ongoing academic advising and career-related counseling.
• Identify students experiencing barriers to achievement or at risk of leaving the course and coordinate appropriate support referrals.
• Evaluate student progress through cooperative learning, reports, teamwork, and other assessment methods.
• Collaborate with campus departments, participate in academic committees, and follow company, state, Department of Education, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma; advanced education or a college degree is preferred, with equivalent experience considered.
• At least three years of hands-on clinical experience as a medical assistant.
• Current knowledge of medical assistant practice and the ability to mentor a diverse student population.
• Strong interpersonal, oral presentation, communication, and independent-work skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Monday–Friday schedule, generally 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., varying with campus needs.

Nice to have

• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential such as RMA, CMA, or NRCMA.
• Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle.
