Budget Analyst Sr - Budget Analyst Staff

What you will do

• Support O&M and capital planning, budgeting, long-range forecasting, re-projections, and contingency planning.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance reports, ad-hoc analyses, and explanations of key financial drivers.
• Support decisions involving operations and maintenance, capital investment, customer service levels, and profitability.
• Coordinate improvement requisition routing and approvals in accordance with authorization policies and procedures.
• Develop and improve standardized budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and requisition processes.
• Support regulatory financial proceedings, revenue requirement development, financial model issues, and cross-functional investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering with at least four years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with at least six years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a functional business unit, corporate finance, operating company finance, or an engineering-related field is preferred.
• Knowledge or use of UI Budgets, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and Business Objects relational database reporting is desired.
• Familiarity with AEP accounting and Chartfields is desired.
• Ability to coordinate with corporate finance, planning and budgeting, accounting and tax, commercial operations, generation and transmission, and regulatory functions.
