Waste Water Treatment Technician (PCB Manufacturing)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite, 2nd shift Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM

Salary: $52,457–$82,916 annually, with a possible shift premium and company bonus.

What you will do

• Operate the facility wastewater pretreatment system and maintain process tanks.
• Order, receive, store, and handle chemicals used in PCB cleaning, imaging, and plating operations.
• Control pH and heavy-metal content to meet City of San Diego Metropolitan Industrial Waste Program standards.
• Label, store, and transfer hazardous waste in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements after completing required training.
• Maintain accurate activity records and perform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, equipment, and treatment systems.
• Assist maintenance staff, operators, inspectors, and other departments with equipment and forklift tasks.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, equipment, processes, and terminology.
• Knowledge of chemical safety and waste-treatment regulations, with plumbing and pump-repair skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand throughout the shift, work around hazardous chemicals, fumes, and odors, and wear a full-face respirator.
• High school education or equivalent and good communication, reading, and writing skills.
• Must complete EPA-required hazardous-materials and waste-handling training within six months of assignment.
• Must have or be capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. Access to ITAR-related products and technical data is restricted to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents.

Nice to have

• At least one year of related experience.
• 24- or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
