Recycle Technician

Location: Livonia, Michigan, United States; on-site work

Salary: $15.50–$16.50 per hour

What you will do

• Collect, salvage, inspect, and sort reusable, recyclable, and waste materials.
• Work with multiple collection containers and maintain docks and collection areas.
• Follow safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and stop at-risk behavior.
• Maintain clean work areas, logs, schedules, and punch-list items.
• Work collaboratively with employees, supervisors, managers, customers, and shift leads.
• Perform repetitive tasks and lift or move up to 35 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent training and experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Completed safety and task training certifications.
• A valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and hazardous waste handling training under RCRA may be required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus; bilingual skills are a plus.
