Location: Portland, Oregon, US. Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. The position is open to applicants who can work in or relocate to Portland; relocation assistance is not available. Travel of approximately 20–25% across North America is required.
Salary: $71,000–$91,000 USD per year, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do
- Support the development, implementation, and improvement of assembly manufacturing processes, layouts, tooling concepts, workstation designs, automation, and controls.
- Participate in manufacturing launches, equipment installations, process validations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Investigate production and manufacturing issues using documentation, plant observations, data, and structured problem-solving methods.
- Support projects from planning through implementation while maintaining schedules, actions, documentation, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with design engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, logistics, facilities, environmental, suppliers, and plant teams.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process requirements, technical specifications, and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Foundational knowledge of manufacturing, assembly processes, industrial engineering, mechanical systems, or related engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Permanent legal authorization to work in the US is required; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not accepted.
Nice to have
- Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience in truck, automotive, heavy-equipment, or high-volume manufacturing.
- Exposure to safety-critical processes, torque-controlled fastening systems, tooling, automation, controls, Lean Manufacturing, or structured problem-solving.
- Experience with manufacturing layouts, tooling design, data analysis, process documentation, robotics, or digital manufacturing.
- Spanish-language proficiency.
