Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; territory covers the entire state of Minnesota. The role requires approximately 20–30% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
Salary: $158,931–$215,025 annual base salary for Specialty Account Manager – Level 5. An Account Manager – Level 4 range of $145,311–$196,597 is also listed.

What you will do
- Represent products to physicians, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders across the Minnesota territory.
- Achieve sales objectives through patient-centered disease and product education while following corporate compliance requirements.
- Execute strategic account business plans and manage accounts across academic institutions, integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations, private practices, and community hospitals.
- Build relationships with local, regional, and national key opinion leaders in the assigned therapeutic areas.
- Coordinate with case management, medical affairs, patient access, market access, reimbursement, and other cross-functional partners.
- Use a technical, consultative selling approach to address healthcare-professional and rare-disease patient needs.
Requirements
- For Specialty Account Manager – Level 5: doctorate degree and 2 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience; or master’s degree and 6 years; or bachelor’s degree and 8 years; or associate degree and 10 years.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, hospital, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare-disease sales.
- Experience working in matrix selling environments with patient services, market access, medical affairs, and reimbursement teams.
- Strong clinical, scientific, communication, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, challenging environment and maintain compliant documentation and reporting.
- Ability to travel approximately 20–30%, including occasional overnight and weekend travel.
Nice to have
- Seven or more years of experience in biotech, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare-disease sales.
- Rare disease, orphan drug, ultra-orphan, rare disease launch, nephrology, or in-office injection and infusion sales experience.
- Experience with market development, deep profiling in unmet disease areas, and educating healthcare professionals about complex diseases.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a graduate business or healthcare-related degree.
