Automotive Technician A Tech (Automotive)

Location: Raymore, United States; onsite retail service position.

Pay range: $24.10–$41.95 under a performance-based flat-rate compensation model.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without a mechanical background.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Assist with and train other technicians in technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications across the A1–A8 areas.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general maintenance, and tires.
• Applicable federal, state, and local certifications or licenses.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment requires completion of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify applicants.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrical and electronic systems, engine repair and performance, transmissions, drivetrains, or automotive heating and air conditioning.
• Five years of automotive repair experience, third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• A.S.E. certification in at least three A1–A8 areas, especially brakes and steering and suspension.
