Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Professional

Location: Rayville, Louisiana, United States; on-site. Frequent travel for project visits is required, typically 40% to 60%, including occasional overnight travel.

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 annually, plus a discretionary year-end bonus.

What you will do

• Plan, implement, coordinate, and maintain safety programs, policies, procedures, manuals, and training matrices.
• Monitor regulatory changes and support compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements.
• Conduct employee safety training, mentor employees and leaders, and communicate safety goals, expectations, and performance metrics.
• Investigate near hits and injuries, coordinate follow-up care and case management, and complete incident reporting.
• Lead hazard and risk assessments, ergonomic initiatives, safety audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
• Develop Environmental Health and Safety Plans for new projects and coordinate safety guidance with project teams, general contractors, clients, owners, employees, contractors, and visitors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; alternatively, an associate degree with at least two years of related professional safety experience and/or training.
• Successful completion of an accredited EHS Apprentice program may also qualify, as may an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oregon driver license.
• OSHA 30 in construction or an equivalent certification is required.
• Experience supporting safety programs, regulatory compliance, hazard assessments, incident investigations, audits, and employee training.
• Frequent travel to project sites is required, typically 40% to 60%.

Nice to have

• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Certification or affiliation with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management.
