TL;DR
Supplier Quality Technician (Aerospace) (precision inspection and supplier quality): Inspecting incoming aerospace components and raw materials to verify conformity with engineering data, product specifications, and aerospace standards with an accent on dimensional measurement, traceability, and corrective-action support. Focus on performing first article inspections, identifying defects, managing quarantine and scrap processes, and maintaining accurate ERP documentation.

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Compensation: $26–$35 USD per hour

What you will do

  • Inspect incoming components and raw materials using calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Verify conformity with engineering data, product specifications, aerospace standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers with corrective actions, containment activities, RCCA discussions, and first article inspections.
  • Assign traceability, quarantine or scrap nonconforming materials, and report quality issues.
  • Complete inspection documentation, create reports, and enter results into the ERP system.
  • Maintain a clean work area and comply with manufacturing safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of manufacturing operations experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection using calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks.
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or web-based software.
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Nice to have

  • Experience with 8D or RCCA corrective actions, aerospace quality control, AS9100, FAA regulations, or Six Sigma.
  • Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience with CATIA, Onshape, Plex, InspectionXpert, NetInspect, or equivalent software.
  • ASQ certification or experience developing new manufacturing processes.
