NewsNation Associate Producer, The Hill (Washington DC or NY)

Location: Onsite at network offices in Washington, DC or New York

Salary: $57,000–$67,000 per year, commensurate with experience

NewsNation is a news network producing daily national and political programming, including the flagship program The Hill.

What you will do

• Research news topics and pitch stories and segments.
• Gather video, audio, and user-generated content for broadcast stories.
• Write scripts and organize editorial elements into engaging broadcasts.
• Build and copy edit graphics and banners.
• Collaborate with on-air talent, news managers, videographers, production, digital, and engineering staff.
• Support additional production tasks assigned by executive or senior producers and news management.

Requirements

• Two or more years of experience in national or major-market news.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent in journalism or a related field.
• Strong writing, grammar, verbal, analytical, and news judgment skills.
• Ability to create dynamic graphic and video elements and work accurately under short deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, handle stress, work at a computer for extended periods, and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Availability for assigned shifts and on-call coverage during overnights, mornings, weekends, and holidays.
