Fab Technician 2 (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Goleta, California, United States; onsite with no remote work available

Salary: $35,000–$43,700 annual pay, plus bonus opportunities and commission pay

What you will do

• Operate and support MOCVD manufacturing processes in a semiconductor cleanroom environment.
• Perform wafer handling, loading and unloading, recipe execution, growth monitoring, inspection support, and post-run documentation.
• Complete equipment checks, chamber and support-area cleaning, consumable checks, and preventive maintenance support.
• Record production, metrology, recipe, lot, gas, chemical, material, and equipment-status data in required systems and logs.
• Verify tool readiness, interlocks, alarms, utilities, recipes, lot tracking, wafer identification, and traveler information before processing.
• Communicate abnormalities and complete accurate shift passdowns while supporting engineers, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and other operators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical certificate or associate degree in electronics, semiconductor technology, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom, wafer fabrication, or related technical manufacturing experience preferred.
• English proficiency sufficient to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
• Ability to follow procedures, travelers, recipes, safety instructions, and verbal direction with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use manufacturing execution systems, production records, metrology records, maintenance logs, and basic computer applications accurately.
• Availability for weekend and night shifts, overtime, and schedule changes in support of 24/7 manufacturing is required.

Nice to have

• MOCVD, epitaxy, high-vacuum equipment, or compound semiconductor experience.
• Technical certificate or associate degree in a related discipline.
