What you will do

• Provide nursing education in skills lab and clinical settings for students in the Workforce Development Program.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities.
• Teach using adult-learning principles and determine effective methods for observing, instructing, and evaluating students.
• Evaluate clinical performance against learning outcomes and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain attendance records, skills check-off forms, reports, and other program documentation.
• Attend faculty meetings and committees, improve instructional quality, and support ongoing student communication.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered nursing license issued by a State Board of Nursing.
• Eligibility for Board approval as an instructor in medical-surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, community health, or geriatrics.
• Master’s degree with coursework in nursing, education, or administration and academic preparation for the teaching subject; BSN candidates currently enrolled in a master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant role.
• At least four years of experience as a registered nurse, including one year within the last five years providing direct patient care.
• Clinical competence as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
• Expertise in mental health, medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, pediatrics, labor and delivery, community health, or critical care.

Nice to have

• One year of nursing-course teaching experience or completion of a course including nursing-teaching practice.
• Willingness to use online activities and instructional technologies to enhance course content.
