EHS Co-Op (Manufacturing)

Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; on-site work in a manufacturing plant with travel to the Franklin, Massachusetts site once per month.

Salary: $20–$30 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Conduct safety audits, inspections, observations, and hazard assessments in manufacturing and laboratory areas.
• Identify non-compliance issues, support corrective action plans, and track implementation.
• Monitor compliance with hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, and other environmental regulations.
• Support environmental sustainability programs and the development of EHS policies and procedures.
• Prepare OSHA logs, environmental reports, safety audits, and other regulatory documentation.
• Contribute to risk assessments, ergonomics studies, emergency response planning, and cross-functional EHS projects.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of EHS principles and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Available to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from January through June, and able to meet university co-op participation requirements.
