Operations Engineering Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Fridley, Minnesota, USA; on-site

What you will do

• Support Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with maintenance and reliability projects, including preventive maintenance optimization, asset management, and critical spare parts strategies.
• Analyze production, maintenance, and quality data to identify trends, solve problems, and implement sustainable improvements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, equipment drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Lead cross-functional projects with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and EHS teams, presenting recommendations to site leadership.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Rising junior or senior standing in an eligible engineering discipline.
• Comfort working in a production or manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD and Minitab.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Interest in process improvement, safety, or quality engineering.
