Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid role based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States

Salary: $150,000–$265,000 per year

What you will do

• Deploy the RAD production system across three network environments using Kubernetes.
• Design, establish, and document repeatable deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Modify and troubleshoot Java Spring back-end and Vue.js front-end components for deployment and environment-specific requirements.
• Diagnose issues across infrastructure, middleware, and application layers during environment standup and stabilization.
• Collaborate with DevOps, software development, and systems engineering teams to align deployment practices with the RAD architecture.

Requirements

• Current Top-Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required; clearance sponsorship or nomination is not available.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four years of equivalent Platform Engineer experience; a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing containerized applications with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, or a comparable front-end framework such as React or Angular.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, distributed web application deployments, Linux administration, and Git.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying applications across isolated or classified network environments.
• AWS, cloud-native architecture, Terraform, VM provisioning, Ansible, or Python experience.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, NiFi, MongoDB, or government reporting and dissemination policies.
