Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; full-time onsite. The co-op runs for six months during Spring 2027, from January through June, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $20-$30 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do
- Support the design, integration, documentation, commissioning, validation, and acceptance testing of automation and control systems.
- Develop, debug, and optimize PLC logic, primarily using Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms, and update HMI interfaces.
- Investigate automation-related downtime, quality issues, and system failures through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Help develop and test automated inspection systems using vision systems, sensors, and gauging.
- Support risk assessments, safety validations, compliance checks, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain electrical schematics, project documentation, and software version control while collaborating with manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls/Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation in 2027 or 2028 and current enrollment in a university co-op program.
- Basic familiarity with PLC programming concepts, preferably Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, and HMI/SCADA systems through coursework, labs, projects, or internships.
- Fundamental understanding of industrial networks, electrical systems, and safety practices, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite in a manufacturing, laboratory, office, and cleanroom environment.
