Controls Engineer (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Design industrial control panels, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and bills of materials in accordance with UL 508A, UL698A, NEC, and customer standards.
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems using Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Emerson, and ABB platforms.
• Develop HMI and SCADA applications and implement PID loops, sequencing, interlocks, alarms, and safety functions.
• Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Profibus, and OPC UA networks.
• Integrate PLCs with SCADA, MES, and third-party automation equipment.
• Lead factory and site acceptance testing, customer-site startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting multiple PLC platforms.
• Experience developing HMI/SCADA applications and using CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and automation systems, including electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

Nice to have

• UL 508A control panel design experience.
