Construction Accounting Manager

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite at San Jose Great Oaks Headquarters

Salary: $134,800–$179,700 annually

What you will do

• Prepare and reconcile monthly job cost reports in Oracle ERP and maintain project budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
• Perform weekly cost reporting and variance analysis across active construction and infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate accruals, construction-in-progress reviews, asset capitalization, project funding, and close-out activities.
• Review contracts, statements of work, amendments, purchase orders, invoices, and contractor or consultant change orders.
• Manage lien waiver compliance, insurance certificates, payment controls, audit documentation, and contract records.
• Coordinate cost and contract matters across Project Management, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Construction teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in construction contracts management, construction accounting, or a related owner-side role.
• Proficiency with Oracle ERP or a comparable enterprise financial system and Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
• Strong understanding of job costing, cash-flow forecasting, accruals, construction-in-progress accounting, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Experience managing lien waivers, insurance compliance, contractor payments, and audit support.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Construction teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in an owner-side corporate real estate or capital projects environment.
• Familiarity with Procore or a comparable construction project management platform.
• Experience supporting financial processes in a publicly traded company.
