Sr Cost Accountant

What you will do

• Manage the month-end close process for cost accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost reporting.
• Maintain standard costs, update product and material costs, review product change requests, and monitor ERP item master records.
• Analyze labor, material, overhead, purchase price, and other manufacturing variances.
• Review cycle counts, work-in-process balances, inventory adjustments, QA holds, return-to-vendor inventory, and inventory turns.
• Lead excess and obsolete inventory reviews, assess financial risk, and prepare rolling inventory risk forecasts.
• Support audits, budgeting, forecasting, physical inventory activities, process improvements, reporting automation, and cross-functional financial projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, cycle counting, and physical inventory processes.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification.
