Senior Systems Analyst & Build Engineer - CI/CD & Application Delivery

Location: Richmond, Virginia; local or drive-in candidates only. Hybrid schedule with one week in the office and one week remote.

hirify.global is hiring a contract technology consultant to support enterprise application delivery and IT engineering initiatives.

What you will do

• Analyze business and technical needs, define requirements, document specifications, and improve processes.
• Support enterprise applications in production by troubleshooting issues, coordinating releases and upgrades, and improving operational reliability.
• Manage Agile delivery activities including backlog management, user stories, sprint planning, release planning, and collaboration with Product Owners, developers, QA teams, and architects.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate build, testing, deployment, provisioning, and configuration management.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code, cloud solutions, DevSecOps controls, governance, observability, monitoring, logging, and automated quality checks across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Create technical documentation and training materials, communicate complex concepts, provide knowledge transfer, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, systems analysis, application support, DevOps, build engineering, release engineering, cloud engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience gathering and managing requirements, creating user stories and acceptance criteria, and working with Agile methodologies and Scrum ceremonies.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or related CI/CD platforms; Terraform or Ansible; enterprise production applications; SQL and Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, web services, data interfaces, and scripting with PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, or similar technologies.
• Must be local to Richmond, Virginia, or able to drive in; the hybrid office schedule is required. Strong communication, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries, utilities, commodity risk, energy trading, finance, or operational technology.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, Helm, or cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, or security automation.
• AWS, Microsoft, Terraform, Ansible, CBAP, CCBA, PMIPBA, PMP, ITIL, Azure Fundamentals, or Agile certifications.
