Learning Development Specialist (Contractor)

Location: Remote across the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.

Salary: $24.66–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Research, write, and develop professional development courses, scripts, presentations, newsletters, and training materials.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and production teams to create engaging online and live learning experiences.
• Develop multimedia assets, including videos, activities, and assessments, using adult learning and instructional design best practices.
• Coordinate with school leaders and cross-functional teams to assess professional development needs and prepare virtual and face-to-face opportunities.
• Evaluate national trainings, present results to stakeholders, and revise courses based on feedback, data, and organizational needs.
• Contribute to the Talent Development roadmap and strategy while maintaining content quality and alignment with instructional standards.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in education, professional development, instructional design, or a related field.
• Strong writing and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable content.
• Experience developing professional learning content, curriculum, or instructional materials for adult learners.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based tools.
• Ability to clear a required background check and reside in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.

Nice to have

• Experience in K–12 education or educator professional development.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional best practices.
• Experience working with instructional design or production teams.
• Basic familiarity with design tools such as Canva.
• Experience supporting or delivering professional development virtually or in person.
