Curriculum Developer, Educational Product (STEAM)

Location: Bay Area required; based at Galileo Headquarters in Oakland, California, with a hybrid office and work-from-home policy. Occasional visits to camp locations, clients, and onsite events or meetings may be required; up to 10% travel.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 yearly, plus eligibility for a 5% annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, test, and refine hands-on STEAM projects for kindergarten through eighth-grade learners.
• Test classroom activities to improve lesson pacing, project steps, and age-appropriate building techniques.
• Specify instructional materials in detail and collaborate with Supply Chain to approve samples and meet program constraints.
• Create multimedia facilitation guides based on the Galileo Innovation Approach.
• Design and occasionally deliver instructor training for program facilitators.
• Observe programs, gather instructor feedback, analyze survey data, and turn insights into curriculum improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, art and design, engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in educational settings designing hands-on activities that engage students in creative problem-solving.
• Experience creating multimedia content, including basic photography and video production.
• Understanding of K-8 enrichment environments, educator needs, and children’s developmental capacities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop clear instructional materials and communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Experience meeting regular deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment.
