Intermediate Structural Engineer (Heavy Industrial)

Location: Hybrid role based in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, with occasional travel of approximately 5% within Canada. Ability to travel to the United States is a bonus.

Salary: CAD 75,000–120,000 annually, depending on experience.

Engineering services supporting complex facilities and projects in the cement, lime, mining, and pulp and paper industries across Canada and the United States.

What you will do

• Lead and review structural calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and 3D models.
• Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, masonry, and foundation systems in industrial and commercial projects.
• Use RISA, SAP2000, Revit, Bluebeam, and equivalent engineering software to develop and review designs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and support planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and quality control.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while communicating directly with clients about requirements, technical solutions, documents, and schedules.
• Support site inspections, field reviews, and construction-related activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 4 years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably in heavy industrial sectors such as mining, cement, lime, or pulp and paper.
• Experience designing structural steel and reinforced concrete systems, with knowledge of North American steel and concrete codes and standards.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, RISA, or equivalent structural analysis and design software.
• Experience supporting project management, scheduling, QA/QC processes, and client coordination.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in good standing with the applicable regulatory body is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Experience with reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, reinforced masonry, composite steel construction, foundations, shear walls, braced frames, or moment-resisting steel frames.
• Ability to travel to the United States.
