Structural Engineer-In-Training

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; office and project-site work may be required

What you will do

• Perform calculations for structural analysis and design of heavy industrial buildings, equipment support structures, and foundation systems.
• Prepare calculation reports for review by senior engineers and use in internal and external engineering documentation.
• Learn and apply structural analysis software, building codes, material design codes, and discipline workflows.
• Collaborate with senior members of the structural discipline and other hirify.global groups.
• Complete office and site safety training and support office, project-site, and remote-site activities.
• Travel and work at other hirify.global offices or project sites as project needs arise.

Requirements

• Working toward graduation in 2027 or recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering, or a master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Academic knowledge of structural analysis, structural mechanics, reinforced concrete design, structural steel design, and foundation design.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively, adapt to change, and take on new challenges.
• Academic transcripts, official or unofficial, must be submitted with the application.
• Previous structural engineering co-op, summer work, or internship experience is an asset; experience with SAP2000, STAADPro, MathCAD, or Bentley MicroStation is also an asset.

Nice to have

• Advanced coursework in structural dynamics, finite element analysis, or seismic design.
