Staff DevOps Engineer (Federal/National Security)

Location: Remote (USA); active U.S. government Secret clearance or higher required

Salary: $170,000–$240,000 plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Design and build CI/CD and software promotion pipelines from the ground up.
• Establish secure release, deployment, rollback, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities across unclassified, controlled, and classified environments.
• Deploy and operate software in government and customer-controlled environments, including restricted and disconnected settings.
• Diagnose issues when logs, data, or direct environment access cannot be broadly shared, and coordinate corrected artifact deployments.
• Define infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, secrets management, and artifact-handling practices.
• Document scalable operational and compliance processes while serving as a hands-on technical owner.

Requirements

• Active U.S. government Secret clearance or higher required; active Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, release engineering, or a related field.
• Experience building or substantially redesigning CI/CD and deployment systems.
• Experience deploying software into government, defense, regulated, disconnected, air-gapped, or otherwise restricted environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or Jenkins; containers, Kubernetes, Helm; infrastructure as code; and configuration automation.
• Ability to automate with Python, Bash, or Go and make sound technical decisions with incomplete requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with IL4, IL5, IL6, classified, or cross-domain deployment workflows.
• Experience contributing to an ATO or continuous authorization process.
• Familiarity with NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, CMMC, STIGs, or related federal requirements.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
