Staff Engineer (Device Infrastructure)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada. Remote work means working from the employee's home country; travel for offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events may be required.

Annual base salary: USD 143,000–207,000 for US-based roles or CAD 122,000–177,000 for Canada-based roles.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction and roadmap for Device Infrastructure Services supporting approximately 2,000 secure, compliant, and properly configured endpoints.
• Replace manual device-management processes with GitOps practices, configuration as code, version control, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead responsible adoption of agentic AI for device operations, including guardrails for autonomous actions and human review checkpoints.
• Serve as the final escalation point for high-severity endpoint incidents, diagnosing macOS and Windows hardware at the machine level.
• Evaluate and pilot tools such as MDM and patch-management platforms, make build-versus-buy decisions, and partner with IT, Security, and product teams.
• Coach engineers, advise product teams on enterprise device deployment, and lead Customer Zero initiatives across the internal fleet.

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT and enterprise endpoint management experience, including 2+ years at a senior or staff individual-contributor level.
• Experience building and managing endpoints with GitOps practices, plus broad enterprise endpoint-management knowledge and deep operating-system expertise.
• Practical experience using AI tools in IT operations, with sound judgment around operational benefits and risks.
• Strong production-quality scripting and infrastructure-as-code skills in Bash, Python, and Terraform.
• Deep knowledge of endpoint security fundamentals, including encryption, patch and vulnerability management, EDR, least-privilege enforcement, and SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Ability to define and execute technical roadmaps, lead through change, collaborate across functions, and mentor engineers.
