Sr. Contract Attorney (AI)

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer- and vendor-side commercial agreements, including SaaS, technology, licensing, content, marketing, distribution, data processing, and confidentiality agreements.
• Manage routine and moderately complex negotiations from intake through execution, identifying legal and business risks and developing practical solutions.
• Design and improve scalable contracting workflows covering intake, review, approval, signature, storage, renewals, and post-execution activities.
• Develop contract templates, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks, escalation standards, metrics, and reporting.
• Optimize adoption of AI-enabled contract lifecycle management and contract review technology.
• Supervise, coach, and support contract specialists while partnering with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Privacy, Information Security, Technology, Product, Marketing, and Human Resources.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Approximately 5–8 years of relevant legal experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience negotiating from both customer and vendor or procurement perspectives, including data processing agreements and privacy provisions.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and U.S. state privacy requirements.
• Experience with contract lifecycle management systems, AI-enabled legal technology, and supervision or mentoring of legal professionals.

Nice to have

• Prior in-house legal experience.
• Experience implementing or materially improving contract lifecycle management systems and manual contracting processes.
• Experience creating templates, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks, approval matrices, or escalation procedures.
• Familiarity with commercial technology, intellectual property, information security, and AI-related contractual issues.
