Salary: $90,000 annually for New York and remote arrangements.

What you will do

• Coordinate and lead digital coverage for hirify.global’s Current Events vertical, including daily, trending, and breaking news.
• Find, assign, oversee, and edit a high volume of stories while collaborating with the legal team to vet coverage.
• Develop coverage strategies and assignments using the editorial calendar, data, and analytics.
• Write and edit stories, headlines, second-beat posts, and breakout content as needed.
• Oversee the digital footprint of large-scale event coverage and prepare for major news moments in advance.
• Identify high-traffic opportunities by monitoring social media, online sources, contacts, and emerging trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in a high-volume digital news operation, including proven leadership experience.
• Strong writing, editing, organizational, management, communication, and independent-working skills.
• Excellent journalistic standards, attention to detail, news judgment, and the ability to prioritize urgent breaking-news content.
• Fluency in the digital media landscape, including SEO, analytics, content streams, and traffic development.
• Employment authorization in the United States is verified through the federal E-Verify program.
