TL;DR
Senior BMS Controller Engineer (Battery Management Systems): Design, develop, and test electronic control modules for generator sets, battery management systems, and inverter/motor control with an accent on requirements development, circuit analysis, component selection, and platform validation. Focus on solving complex ECM/ECU technical issues, ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance, and integrating platforms across software, battery, system, and machine applications.

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available, and the role may require 10% travel. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and test electronic control modules for generator sets, battery management systems, and inverter/motor control.
  • Define product requirements and perform analysis, simulation, component selection, schematic review, layout review, and platform verification and validation.
  • Ensure compliance with functional and environmental requirements, development processes, safety requirements, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with software, battery, system, and machine engineering teams to integrate platforms across multiple applications.
  • Manage and negotiate with ECM/ECU vendors and troubleshoot technical issues throughout development and production.
  • Mentor technicians and engineers in electrical and electronic system development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related accredited field is preferred.
  • Progressive technical ownership in ECM/ECU design; experience with battery management controllers is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of analog and/or digital circuitry, including design, simulation, analysis, schematic review, and layout review.
  • Experience with NPI, APQP, CPPD, FMEAs, proactive reliability, and budget management.
  • Experience with environmental validation, EMC testing, safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and machine or engine electronic control modules.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems and collaborate across engineering, software, battery, system, and machine teams.
