Senior Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $242,250–$306,375 USD annually

What you will do

• Assess Apollo's product surfaces and identify high-leverage opportunities for design.
• Modernize core developer experiences by turning disconnected features into coherent user journeys.
• Design tools for engineers to build, test, and manage APIs, along with onboarding and AI agent interfaces.
• Partner with engineering as a peer and develop a point of view on product direction.
• Set design and craft standards and contribute reusable patterns to the design system.
• Connect design decisions to measurable outcomes such as developer activation, time to first successful API call, and support cost.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software design experience and a portfolio of shipped work.
• Experience designing technically complex products for technical users, such as developer tools, infrastructure, data, security, identity, or APIs.
• Track record of independently identifying high-leverage problems and delivering end-to-end solutions.
• Strong visual design and craft skills.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into a cohesive vision and proactively build alignment with engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping developer-focused products, API tooling, or agent experiences.
• Engineering or developer background, including production code contributions.
• Ability to move between strategic product thinking and interaction or craft details.
• Experience working within and extending design systems.
• Regular use of AI design tools with an understanding of their applications and limitations.
