Location: Remote from France, Germany, or Spain

What you will do
- Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered product experiences for Notebooks and adjacent surfaces.
- Develop systems combining deterministic product capabilities with LLM-powered experiences to deliver trustworthy and explainable outcomes.
- Partner with Product and Design to translate customer problems, adoption signals, and roadmap goals into technical decisions and iterations.
- Build integrations that allow Datadog capabilities to operate within third-party AI platforms, agents, and conversational environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while establishing AI engineering best practices.
- Build, operate, and support reliable backend services in the critical path of customer deployments, including on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with Go, Python, or similar systems programming languages.
- Hands-on experience delivering production AI-powered products and customer-facing experiences using LLM technologies.
- Strong product mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business impact.
- Experience building reliable systems that address model non-determinism through evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, and operational excellence.
- Must be based in France, Germany, or Spain for the remote arrangement.
