Hands-On Backend Team Lead

What you will do

• Contribute approximately 80% hands-on backend development across the full product development lifecycle.
• Lead, onboard, mentor, and manage a small team of software engineers, including performance and growth processes.
• Break down and plan work, create high-level designs and estimations, and drive technical decision-making.
• Monitor system stability and own the team’s repositories, codebase, CI/CD pipeline, and infrastructure DevOps.
• Run team syncs, identify blockers, coordinate with other teams and product stakeholders, and manage the Jira board.
• Maintain third-party libraries and deliver high-quality products on schedule using agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience as a hands-on backend developer in a B2B SaaS startup.
• 4+ years of experience leading a team of 5 or more people.
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose iterative solutions.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, ownership, and results-oriented skills.
