TL;DR
HSE Advisor (Manufacturing): Supporting health, safety, and environmental standards across manufacturing sites in Laverton North and Altona North with an accent on Australian compliance, risk management, incident investigations, and safety culture. Focus on conducting audits and assessments, leading corrective actions, analyzing HSE performance, and coordinating priorities across multiple sites.

Location: Primarily site-based across manufacturing facilities in Laverton North and Altona North, Victoria, Australia; regular travel between sites is required.

What you will do

  • Partner with site leaders across multiple manufacturing sites to implement HSE standards, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Provide HSE advice, coaching, and training to leaders and employees.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, reporting, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Monitor and analyze HSE performance, risks, trends, and continuous-improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including operational teams, regulators, contractors, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Experience in HSE within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence change across cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, occupational health and safety, sustainability, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety.
  • Training or certifications related to Australian manufacturing regulations and standards, including the WHS Act and AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018.
  • Relevant HSE qualifications.
