Safety, Health & Wellbeing Lead (Hospitality)

Location: North Queensland, Australia; regular intrastate travel and occasional interstate travel required. Hybrid ways of working are offered.

What you will do

• Partner with ALH Venue Managers, Area Managers, and operational teams to embed health, safety, and wellbeing into daily hotel operations.
• Conduct Category 1 and 2 ICAM root-cause investigations, support Category 3 and 4 reviews, and address dangerous occurrences.
• Coach venue leaders, conduct site inspections, support new venue openings, and deliver interactive WHS training.
• Analyze incident trends and develop targeted risk assessments, safety alerts, work instructions, and continuous improvement projects.
• Support the Safety Management System, self-insurance audits, regulatory compliance, and engagement with WorkSafe and external regulators.
• Champion physical and mental wellbeing initiatives across North Queensland venues.

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety; a Diploma is preferred.
• ICAM certification and a current, valid driver’s license.
• Strong WHS experience with understanding of hospitality and/or retail operations.
• Deep knowledge of the WHS Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and hazard management principles.
• Experience in root-cause investigation, data-driven planning, group facilitation, project execution, and stakeholder management.
• Availability for regular travel across North Queensland and occasional interstate travel.
