Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Salary: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Oversee installation, commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, ductwork, control panels, building pneumatics, and commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs, refrigerant levels, parts inventory, vendor relationships, work orders, service documentation, and equipment compliance.
• Lead HVAC/R field teams by coordinating assignments, handling escalated service issues, mentoring technicians, and delivering hands-on training.
• Conduct inspections and repairs in accordance with OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant-handling protocols, and applicable federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and coordinate regional service workloads and business-critical incident response.
• Lead special projects, evaluate technologies, improve operational processes, and maintain company vehicles in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration, or 6 years plus an Associate of Applied Science degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Current Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• At least 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, satisfactory motor vehicle report, and compliant commercial driving record.
• Ability to work at the St. Petersburg, Florida facility and perform physical field, equipment, vehicle, and on-call duties.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or an associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office productivity software.
• Experience with glycol and CO2 systems.
