Gas Controller Associate (Natural Gas)

Location: Houston, Texas; onsite position with 12-hour rotating shifts

What you will do

• Monitor real-time pipeline conditions across multiple SCADA screens and respond to alarms within required time limits.
• Operate compressors and valves to control gas flow, isolate pipeline sections, and maintain system balance.
• Respond safely to pressure drops, equipment failures, possible leaks, and other abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate with field technicians, controllers, schedulers, third parties, and customers.
• Prepare emergency response communications, complete detailed shift handovers, and participate in drills and operator qualification programs.
• Maintain compliance with PHMSA requirements and fatigue risk management procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and possible on-call periods.
• Adequate visual acuity, including color discrimination, for screen-based alarm and status recognition.
• Adequate hearing for alarms and clear radio and telephone communication.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and computer skills.
• Ability to maintain attention, judgment, and psychomotor performance during sustained operations and emergencies.

Nice to have

• Experience with natural gas pipeline operations, gas control, gas scheduling, or field operations.
• Familiarity with hirify.global pipeline systems.
• Experience in a 24/7/365 work environment.
• Associate degree in any discipline.
