Natural Gas Supply Trading Specialist – West Coast (Natural Gas Trading)

What you will do

• Trade and optimize West Coast natural gas pipeline, citygate, transport, and future storage positions across California and the Pacific Northwest.
• Execute physical supply transactions and source natural gas for refinery and terminal requirements at Los Angeles and Martinez.
• Coordinate nominations, pipeline scheduling, citygate balancing, and Operational Flow Order management with scheduling teams.
• Monitor pipeline conditions, flow disruptions, regional basis dynamics, and supply-demand changes to protect operational continuity.
• Maintain relationships with pipeline operators, marketers, and utility representatives, including SoCal Gas and PG&E.
• Document physical positions and ensure transactions comply with risk policies, LOA frameworks, and governance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least two years of trading or marketing experience with profit and loss responsibility, contract negotiation, and scheduling.
• At least two years of natural gas trading, transport or citygate optimization, or physical supply experience is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of California and Pacific Northwest natural gas pipeline systems, nomination processes, OFO management, and balancing.
• Experience with SoCal Citygate, PG&E Citygate, the Malin interconnect, West Coast basis dynamics, and physical gas supply optimization.
• Strong coordination and communication skills for working with traders, schedulers, Middle Office, and asset operations teams.
