TL;DR
Mission Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and evaluating mission systems, aviation platforms, modeling and simulation environments, and system verification plans with an accent on systems integration, test execution, and technical analysis. Focus on designing test plans, analyzing post-test data, supporting flight and field testing, and presenting results for defense and R&D programs.

Location: On-site at Fort Eustis, Virginia, United States. Travel up to 25% may be required, with possible flight duties.

Salary: $86,000–$107,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Generate technical reports, procedures, plans, white papers, and other mission documentation.
  • Perform engineering studies and analyses for the design, integration, and testing of aviation platforms and support systems.
  • Develop modeling and simulation environments, system architectures, requirements definitions, and verification plans.
  • Prepare and execute material, subsystem, full-system, environmental, and other R&D tests.
  • Define technical performance measures and support post-test data collection and analysis.
  • Support technical meetings, communities of interest, conferences, briefings, and program execution activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace, computer, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • At least 2 years of experience generating test plans, analyses, and reports for aviation or R&D programs.
  • At least 2 years of experience with modeling and simulation theory and implementation of testing environments.
  • Ability to present findings at technical interchange meetings and senior-level briefings.
