Salary: $183,000–$271,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead ground systems engineering and integration activities for ESS ground architectures, technical approaches, engineering processes, and technical baselines.
• Integrate ground, space, crypto, terminal, subsystem, element, and component segments for military satellite communications systems.
• Apply digital engineering, MBSE, digital twins, digital threads, and analytical models to support architecture development, integration planning, and system verification.
• Analyze and resolve technical gaps, requirements discrepancies, interface issues, architecture trades, risks, and interdependencies with government and contractor teams.
• Lead working groups and technical reviews, prepare briefings, document action items and meeting minutes, and adjudicate stakeholder comments.
• Conduct trade studies, engineering analyses, and technical assessments for complex integration and architecture challenges.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must currently possess a Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
• On-site work in El Segundo, California, is required.
• 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, or architecture development for complex aerospace, defense, or space systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with MILSATCOM programs, Space and Ground segment integration, military and Department of Defense personnel, and Microsoft Office products.

Nice to have

• INCOSE CSEP/ESEP certification or equivalent systems engineering credentials.
• Master’s degree in a technical field or space systems experience.
• Experience with mission planning, COMSEC/TRANSEC, or key management.
• Agile development and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
