Product Support Engineer (Power Systems)

What you will do

• Provide daily technical support for line builds, start-up, testing, PPAP/first articles, and shop-floor defect resolution.
• Coordinate interim containments and drive permanent corrective actions for manufacturing and field issues.
• Maintain BOMs, routings, drawings, specifications, and configuration data for ETO/CTO/SEQ products.
• Manage material lifecycle activities, including excess-and-obsolete material and product cannibalization impacts.
• Lead 8D investigations, root cause analysis, reliability improvements, and warranty-cost reduction initiatives.
• Manage ECNs from issue identification through validation and release while collaborating with Operations, Service, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Strong configuration and BOM management experience for ETO/CTO/SEQ products.
• Experience with SAP, Windchill, or an equivalent PLM/ERP system.
• Proficiency in structured problem-solving methods, including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, interim corrective actions, and permanent corrective actions.
• Ability to support manufacturing, improve first-pass yield, reduce start-up issues, and maintain specification conformance.

Nice to have

• Experience with diesel or natural-gas gensets, power systems, controls, or related commercial and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of UL, NEC, and applicable compliance standards.
• Experience with FMEA linkages, verification and validation, ECN execution, and manufacturing support.
