What you will do

• Teach GED preparation, TABE reading and math preparation, and high school diploma classes.
• Deliver instruction in social skills, employability skills, applied academics, and project-based learning.
• Prepare relevant lessons, engage trainees, manage classroom discipline, and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Monitor reading gains and TABE achievements, evaluate student progress, and record evaluations and case notes in CIS.
• Maintain attendance records, complete weekly reports, and provide required student accommodations.
• Participate in team, departmental, and staff meetings; complete staff training and coordinate with center departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Certification to teach in the state where the center is located; certification may be waived if unavailable, provided certification is pursued.
• Ability to read and interpret professional, technical, and government materials and write reports, correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from students, groups, managers, peers, and the public.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts including probability, statistics, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
