Construction Safety Manager (OCIP)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; hybrid role with regular on-site presence and travel between active construction project sites required.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Oversee construction site safety across multiple active projects operating under an Owner Controlled Insurance Program.
• Conduct routine inspections, audits, daily safety reviews, hazard assessments, and compliance reviews across construction sites.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, OCIP requirements, and project-specific safety standards.
• Partner with contractors and project teams to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and promote safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and recordable injuries; prepare safety reports and compliance documentation.
• Provide safety guidance in project meetings, support OSHA inspections, verify safety training, and lead safety stand-downs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of heavy construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with construction site inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Regular travel between active construction project sites required.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, reporting, prioritization, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting or managing Owner Controlled Insurance Programs.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management, environmental health and safety, or a related field.
• CSP, ASP, or related professional safety certifications.
