Staff Engineer, Power Electronics (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own flight-critical power system requirements, design, and integration for the V-BAT aircraft.
• Design high- and low-voltage power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, battery management systems, and related subsystems.
• Lead full-cycle hardware development from concept, modeling, schematic capture, simulation, and prototyping through testing, validation, and production deployment.
• Drive PCB layout and design with ECAD engineers, optimizing power density, EMI, thermal performance, safety, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Lead design reviews, mentor electrical engineers, and provide technical feedback across engineering and aircraft teams.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones while collaborating with Mechanical, CAD, Embedded, Software, Supply Chain, Test Automation, and Production teams.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 6+ years of experience as a power electronics engineer.
• Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debugging.
• Experience contributing to and leading multiple product design cycles involving electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
• Demonstrated ownership, product delivery, problem-solving, and execution through complex development cycles.
• Ability to identify and implement improvements that increase hardware development efficiency, quality, and aircraft reliability.
