Avionics Hardware Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own flight-critical avionics hardware from architecture and schematic design through PCB layout, bring-up, and production support.
• Drive component selection, interface definition, and system-level hardware tradeoffs.
• Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis across laboratory, integration, and flight-test environments.
• Define and execute hardware validation strategies appropriate to development and flight maturity.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to transition prototype hardware into production.
• Document designs, test results, engineering changes, and improvements based on test and field data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• End-to-end ownership experience with avionics or high-reliability electronic hardware.
• Strong experience with PCB design, hardware bring-up, and laboratory debugging.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive hardware issues to closure.
• May require access to classified information or restricted U.S. Government sites, systems, or information, subject to applicable authorization, clearance, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.
• Must be able to access applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience in avionics, aerospace, missile, space, automotive, or defense hardware.
• Experience with motor controllers, avionics backplanes, power electronics, or flight hardware.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD or aerospace hardware standards, including DO-254 exposure.
• Embedded systems or FPGA-adjacent hardware experience.
• Experience supporting hardware during integration, testing, or flight operations.
