Focus on generating joint embeddings, discovering molecular subtypes, analyzing CRISPR and cell perturbation experiments, and communicating findings to scientific and industry stakeholders.

Location: Redwood City, California, United States

Salary: $145,000–$190,000 USD annually for roles performed from California; ranges may vary for Colorado, Illinois, and New York.

Company

hirify.global develops a precision-medicine platform that connects real-world evidence with clinical care to support treatment decisions and healthcare research.

What you will do

  • Develop and apply computational methods to identify novel targets for cancer therapeutics using genomic, imaging, clinical, and other multimodal data.
  • Analyze Tempus real-world data to identify molecular, biological, and clinical patterns in specific patient populations.
  • Generate joint embeddings to cluster patients and discover novel molecular subtypes.
  • Use the Tempus Loop Agent architecture to autonomously prioritize research opportunities.
  • Partner with modeling lab biologists to analyze CRISPR and cell perturbation experiments in patient-derived organoids for target validation.
  • Lead translational and real-world evidence projects while collaborating with AI/ML, engineering, genomics, data science, clinical, and medical teams.

Requirements

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, or a life-science discipline with a strong computational publication record.
  • PhD plus 4+ years of experience using genomic and multimodal data with machine learning for complex-disease research, especially cancer.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL, with extensive experience analyzing genomic data and applying statistical and machine-learning models.
  • Strong understanding of cancer, genomics, and/or immunology.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and complex research projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical, scientific, client, and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience with patient-derived organoids, target identification and validation, biomarker discovery, mechanism of action, or preclinical proof-of-concept studies.
  • Experience with early-stage drug development, single-cell RNA sequencing, or spatial transcriptomics.
  • Experience with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Jupyter, RStudio, tidyverse, ggplot, Git, Docker, AWS, or R package development.
  • Consulting or other client-facing experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

Culture & Benefits

  • Highly collaborative work across research, product engineering, clinical genomics, data science, and medical teams.
  • Client-facing communication with life-science pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
  • Opportunities to author abstracts, posters, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Benefits may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical benefits, and other employee benefits depending on the position.
