CNC Machinist - Programmer / Operator

What you will do

• Set up, program, edit, and operate CNC lathes, mills, drills, and other numerically controlled machinery.
• Produce machined components while maintaining quality and tolerances within .0003 inches.
• Read work orders, technical drawings, prints, sketches, and machining instructions.
• Preset and, when required, resharpen tools while working with stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, brass, and exotic materials.
• Inspect completed work with micrometers, bore gauges, vernier calipers, and other measuring instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance, report equipment issues and unsafe conditions, complete labor reports, and maintain a clean work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical school education, and working machinist knowledge, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of CNC machine tool programming and operating experience.
• Ability to operate at least two CNC machine tools and interpret machine drawings.
• Previous experience as a manual machinist; mill and lathe experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of programming languages, machine parameters, mathematical calculations, and elementary technical problem-solving.
• Detail-oriented, independent, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and complete work efficiently.
